Meet the Staff

The Brentwood Veterinary Clinic staff is dedicated to the health and wellbeing of your pet. Here you will find a team of dedicated, experienced professionals who have the training and the special human-to-animal bond that drew them to this profession.

If you are already familiar with our practice, you’ve witnessed this during each and every visit. If you are new to the community or are looking for a new practice, we encourage you to contact the hospital to arrange a tour of the facility as a way of getting to know us. In the meantime, take a minute and get to know the members of our staff.

“Thank you to you and your staff for always being kind, considerate and very professional. We feel confident our pet has gotten the best care possible.”

- Pete and Grace F.

Dr. Carpenter
Dr. Carpenter is originally from central Pennsylvania and completed her undergraduate degrees in biology and environmental studies at East Stroudsburg University. She completed veterinary school at the University of Minnesota in 1992 and, after graduation, fled from the cold snow to Virginia. Dr. Carpenter has lived in the Tidewater area for almost 20 years and has worked at several local clinics. Being a veterinarian is the fulfillment of a childhood dream for Dr. Carpenter. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is “puppies and kittens” and getting them started on the right foot with preventative health care and educating owners about their pets’ needs. She has also enjoyed watching veterinary medicine and patient care evolve to a level of excellence exceeding that offered in human medicine.

Dr. Carpenter and her children Clayton and Megan live in Portsmouth and spend their free time visiting zoos and exploring the outdoors. A dog (Diesel), 2 cats (Bob & Wendy), cockatiel (Rainbow), and a tank full of freshwater fish round out the family.

bcericolaBobbie Cericola, LVT
Bobbie Cericola has been in the pet care field since 1978. She is a licensed Veterinary Technician as well as our practice manager, and as you can tell by her family of pets, she and her husband have deep compassion and love for animals. They currently have four dogs, ranging from pug to pit bull, three cats, two birds, and three ponds full of Koi. Almost all of the menagerie are rescues: even the fish started out that way!
